Very simple, daylight is collected through an evacuated tube panel array (similar to a series of thermos vacuum flask) which heats up a copper coil inside of the tube which contains a heat transfer fluid called Glycol. The fluid then makes its way through a pipe and connects to a large solar coil in the hot water tank, this in turns heats the water in the tank eliminating or reducing the need for the boiler to burn fuel to heat your hot water. Our Sales Consultants carry a small sample unit that is a working unit which is used in a demonstration at your home or business to show you exactly how it works, we feel that seeing the product and how it works makes understanding the technology and the process much simpler.
The Solar collector panel is fitted flush and securely to your roof tiles, (no need to remove tiles) flexible stainless steel pipes are connected to the panel and then connected to your new Solar hot water tank normally in the same place as your old hot water tank. A solar control panel is fitted to the system and this communicates with the existing boiler or combi to ensure that the Solar panel is the primary source of heating the hot water tank and when required in very overcast or foggy conditions the solar control system will call on the boiler for assistance to get the tank to the desired temperature.
